Thanks to the intermediate frame developed by ORYX, the standard Land Rover Defender can now be transformed into a pop top overland camper. No major modifications to the vehicle or to the roof are necessary! Thanks to the ingenious and innovative design, neither the vehicle nor the roof shell needs to be modified. This means that the pop top roof tent can be fitted very quickly, resulting in lower installation costs, The base Defender can be easily returned to the standard vehicle condition at any time. The patented intermediate frame with moulded part at the front of the vehicle achieves harmonious transitions and does not make the uncut roof look like a foreign body.

Our aluminium intermediate frame sets standards in precision and comfort: The robust construction made of 3 mm thick aluminium is developed using the latest CAD technology, CNC - manufactured and welded precisely on special construction gauges – an all-round carefree package.
With the ORYX Lift-Up Pop Top Roof, you don't get a blank aluminium frame that you have to laboriously drill yourself and then paint (with all the associated sources of error). The roof is a factory fully pre-assembled frame. This is already powder-coated in satin black and equipped with all the necessary holes and threads. All other small parts required for assembly are also included in the price.

A great and popular upgrade for the Oryx Defender Lift-Up Pop Top Roof conversion is to add a bed. Once fitted, this can be left in place when the roof is closed. The sleeping area measures 200cm x 130cm approx. Mattress can be added, with bedding and left in situ, when the roof is closed.
Weatherproof and comfortable
Triple seals reliably protect the sensitive area between the tent and intermediate frame from rain and moisture. The tent bellows made of high-quality, waterproof and breathable Airtex material ensures a pleasant indoor climate. The three windows – two at the side and one at the rear – are fitted with mosquito nets and blackout blinds. The rear window can also be opened completely and rolled upwards.
The gas pressure dampers included in the set (600NM per damper) are designed for vehicles with a low additional roof load. If additional roof loads are required, the gas struts can simply be replaced with stronger struts (800NM: item no. 21707).
