About Us

Welcome to the L. R. Bits / Pennine Overland website.
L. R. Bits was started in 2007 by Mick Outhwaite to manufacture reproduction parts for
Land Rover Classic campers and heavy-duty roof racks for all Land Rover models. L. R.
Bits is a small family business, based in the Yorkshire Pennine’s, between Skipton and
Keighley. Customer demand for Defender campers evolved the business into developing
our own range of specialist accessories to building bespoke overland expedition
campers.

L. R. Bits specialise in 3D CAD design and manufacture of expedition grade products for
Defender and Series Land Rovers. Using these specialist parts to build bespoke
Overland and Expedition Defender campers and Overland trailers. L. R. Bits conducts
restoration and maintenance of all modern and classic Land Rovers. Primarily, we are
Land Rover enthusiasts. L. R. Bits / Pennine Overland manufacture all our own products
in the UK and we are proud members of “Made in Britian.” We manufacture some
products in our own products in our own works but also work very closely with specialist
manufacturers in Yorkshire and Lancashire. We are constantly looking to develop new
products and as time allows, adding them to the website.
All L. R. Bits products are thoroughly tested on our own vehicles. It is company policy to
spend as much time as possible using our Land Rovers for work and for pleasure.
Overland travel is in our blood and all the equipment we sell has been put through its
paces on our adventures around Europe and North Africa.

Our small collection of Classic Land Rovers.
